After an incredible 2025 season, West Coast Eagles superstar Ella Roberts has been awarded the club’s highest honour for the second consecutive year at the AFLW Club Champion awards on Tuesday night.
The award is well-deserved recognition for Roberts’ outstanding form this season, with the 20-year-old having an incredible impact for the Eagles in their history-making 2025 campaign.
The Peel Thunder product elevated her game to another level this season, managing an average of 23.8 disposals, 7.3 tackles, 3.8 clearances and 104.8 Fantasy points per game, all career-highs.
Adding to her 2025 accolades, Roberts was also chosen in the All-Australian team for the second consecutive year and named captain of the AFLPA 22Under22 team, and also took home the Eagles' Fan MVP trophy on the night.
“Ella is an incredible footballer. Her natural instincts for the game are like nothing I’ve seen,” West Coast Eagles senior coach Daisy Pearce said.
“The awesome thing about her last couple of years is that she’s continued to grow as an elite athlete and is also starting to understand the impact she can have on her teammates by leading in her own way.
“Apart from being a great human, the best thing about her is that she loves the game and is extremely competitive, those qualities are the reason that, despite her outstanding season, she marched into her exit meeting hungry to improve.
“The whole team and broader club is very proud of Ella, and after taking a moment to celebrate this achievement, we look forward to seeing her continue to grow.”
Elite defender and co-captain Charlie Thomas finished Runner Up in the count for the second year in a row, producing another outstanding season, and also took home the Best Club Person award.
Thomas finished third in the League for intercept possessions and eighth in the League for Rebound 50s and was named in the AFLPA 22Under22 team for the second consecutive season.
Exciting youngster Lauren Wakfer rounded out the top three, having a career-best year across the stats board.
Wakfer proved herself as a proficient and agile ruck, while impressing with her strong aerial presence around the ground and marking ability in the forward line.
First-year Eagle Lucia Painter finished as the team’s Leading Goal Kicker with 10 majors for the season, three of those coming in her round one debut in which she was recognised with a Rising Star nomination.
Painter also won the Emerging Talent award, the 18-year-old impressing throughout the season with her football IQ, skill and strength around a contest.
Ferocious tackler Jess Rentsch was voted Trademark Player by her teammates, having a stand-out year in the Eagles’ backline and solidifying her status as a key defender.
Rentsch starred with a career-high 12 tackles against Gold Coast in round one and was recognised for her consistent and competitive form with a Rising Star nomination in round nine.
Experienced midfielder Dana Hooker was celebrated on the night after announcing her retirement at the end of the season following 67 AFLW games, 45 of those in the blue and gold.
Hooker hangs up the boots as a two-time All Australian, an Eagles’ Club Champion and an inspiration to those around her, leaving a lasting legacy on the League she excelled in for 10 years.
