The West Coast Eagles have informed Annabel Johnson and Courtney Lindgren that they will not be offered contracts for the 2026 season.
Johnson joined West Coast from Geelong ahead of the 2024 AFLW season, before unfortunately sustaining an ACL injury in the pre-season, sidelining her for 12 months.
After suffering another knee setback ahead of the 2025 season, Johnson made her long-awaited debut in the blue and gold in round seven and played four games and the back end of the year.
Lindgren signed on with the club in June as an injury replacement player and made her AFLW debut for the Eagles in round three against St Kilda.
The 23-year-old played two games for the club before suffering a lower back injury that ruled her out for the remainder of the season.
AFLW List Manager Jordan Loxley acknowledged Johnson and Lindgren and their contributions to the club.
“This is always a difficult time of year, and decisions we don’t take lightly,” Loxley said.
“We would like to sincerely thank both Annabel and Courtney for their contribution to our club.
“Both were highly valued and well-liked members of our playing group, and we are grateful for the impact they’ve had during their time with us.
“We wish them the very best in the next chapter of their football journeys.”
