West Coast fans were given a moment to savour in the Western Derby on Sunday, with Jobe Shanahan earning his second Mark of the Year nomination for the season following a spectacular grab against Fremantle.

The highlight came midway through the opening term with the Dockers holding a narrow early advantage.

From deep in defence, Tom McCarthy launched a long, searching kick out of full‑back towards a crowded contest at half‑back and Shanahan timed his leap to perfection, launching high above the pack to pull down a clean contested mark.

The rising Eagle’s aerial bravery drew roars from the crowd and provided a spark for West Coast in the early stages of the rivalry clash.

It marks Shanahan’s second nomination in the 2026 season, having also been recognised for his towering late‑game grab against Port Adelaide in round three.

Fans can support Shanahan and go into the draw to win the major prize of $5,000 thanks to Virgin Australia.
