Key defender Harry Edwards is tracking towards a return and is expected to be available for WAFL selection this weekend if he completes training throughout the week.
Edwards has been progressing through concussion protocols since sustaining a second concussion in a matter of weeks against North Melbourne in round two.
“Harry has been building his match fitness over a number of weeks and has completed two full sessions since being cleared of protocols,” High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said.
“We’re planning for him to be available for selection as long as he gets through training this week.”
Draftee Sam Allen continues to make strong progress in his rehabilitation from a knee injury, with the midfielder now entering his performance block ahead of a return in around five weeks.
“Sam is continuing to be exposed to team breakdown drills and is now entering his performance block as we build him back towards match availability,” Merriman said.
Recruit Brandon Starcevich is also trending positively as he recovers from a calf injury, with the defender expected to begin reintegration into football drills in the coming days and three-to-four weeks away from playing.
“We may see Brandon taking part in a drill or two this week, with the plan to continue progressing his football work and total volumes,” Merriman said.
Jack Graham has commenced the early stages of his rehabilitation following shoulder surgery last week and is beginning his mobility work, with a return expected post the Eagles’ mid-season bye.
Archer Reid is showing improvement with knee soreness, with a decision on his availability to be made in the coming days.
“Archer is improving with his knee soreness. We will make a decision in the coming days regarding his return to play timeline,” Merriman said.
