Smart is a high-calibre South Australian athlete who brings speed, endurance and versatility after developing her game with Sturt and representing South Australia at Under-18 level.
A proven dual-sport talent, Smart balanced football alongside elite athletics, highlighted by her achievement as a junior Australian silver medallist in the long jump. Her athletic profile, speed and work rate have underpinned her steady development across recent seasons.
West Coast AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Jordan Loxley said the club sees Smart as a strong long-term prospect on the outside.
“We see Lily developing into a wing or half-back option, bringing electric speed and a high work rate to those roles,” Loxley said.
“We watched Lily closely last year, and it’s been really pleasing to see her grow her game. We’re excited about her trajectory and look forward to welcoming Lily to the west.”
