Harry Edwards has been named at full-back among six potential inclusions for Sunday’s clash with Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
Edwards has not played AFL since suffering a second concussion in close succession against North Melbourne in round two but got through his WAFL return last round.
The 200cm defender is joined in the extended 26-player squad by Jack Williams, Bo Allan, Clay Hall, Harvey Johnston and Jack Hutchinson.
Hall, Johnston and Hutchinson – who has worked back from ankle surgery over the past three WAFL matches - are yet to appear at AFL level in 2026.
West Coast has confirmed three outs at this stage, with Elijah Hewett and Harry Schoenberg omitted and Matt Owies unavailable due to a calf strain.
Coming off an interrupted pre-season, Hewett has played the past four AFL matches predominantly as a half-forward with stints in midfield.
“We rate Elijah highly and he has been in constant conversations with our coach Andrew McQualter about his form and the best pathway to get back to playing primarily as an AFL midfielder,” Head of Football John Worsfold said.
“He had an interrupted pre-season, and we feel he needs to build his midfield craft and fitness base. We see the opportunity to play a full game in midfield in the WAFL as the best option for him this week.”
The Eagles will train on Friday before trimming their 26-man team to a final 23 to take on the Demons at 3pm AWST.
The Mother’s Day clash will be broadcast live on 7 and 7-plus in WA (11am AWST and 1pm AEST) and nationally on Fox Footy and Kayo.
