Waalitj Marawar has settled on two changes for Sunday’s home Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash against Greater Western Sydney.
With young gun Cooper Duff-Tytler rested and Harry Edwards forced out through concussion, the Eagles have called up Rhett Bazzo and Jack Williams for the Giants test.
Bazzo, 22, will play his first game this season and 29th of his career, backing up Reuben Ginbey and Tylar Young against the Giants’ potent tall timber in attack.
Williams has earned a recall after one game against St Kilda following a strong WAFL performance with two goals, 14 disposals and nine hit-outs against South Fremantle.
The 198cm big man will support Bailey Williams in the ruck, with Matt Flynn named an emergency alongside Bo Allan and Tom Gross.
Williams has kicked 11 goals in five WAFL appearances this season and averaged nearly five marks.
“He’s been in good form in the WAFL. He played (against St Kilda) a few weeks ago and we think he’s added some second ruck to his repertoire as well, so we’ll reward ‘JWill’ for his form,” coach Andrew McQualter said.
Sunday’s clash gets underway at 4.15pm at Optus Stadium and will be broadcast live on 7 and 7-plus in WA and New South Wales, and live nationally on Fox Footy and Kayo.
