What’s On | Round 11
Collingwood v Waalitj Marawar
Saturday, May 23 | 4.35pm (AEST) | MCG / Wurundjeri

We're back in Victoria this Saturday, taking on Collingwood in a Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash at the MCG.

Sir Doug Nicholls Round

Across round 10 and 11 of the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, we will feature the Noongar language translation of the West Coast Eagles - Waalitj Marawar, meaning 'Eagles of the West'.

We will be wearing our Waalitj Marawar First Nations guernsey, designed by Andrew Beck (Ngadju Mirning Wudjari). Andrew has drawn on story, symbolism and the club’s history to create a guernsey rich in meaning.

Pre-match Sir Doug Nicholls Round ceremonies will take place on the ground from 4.28pm, featuring a live Welcome to Country, cultural ceremony and gift exchange.

Captain’s Run & Post-match Function

Unfortunately, due to venue requirements, the Captain's Run scheduled in Melbourne will be closed.

Due to a tight travel turnaround, there will be no post-match event.

Join us for our Amphora pre-match function when we return to Melbourne for our round 16 match against Carlton and our round 18 match against the Western Bulldogs.

Getting to the MCG

Public transport is the easiest way to get to the MCG, with Jolimont (five-minute walk) and Richmond stations plus tram routes stopping nearby, and travel currently free across Victoria until Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Driving is not recommended due to extremely limited parking, event-day road closures, and expected congestion.

Pedestrian access is via bridges from the city (including a 20‑minute walk from Flinders Street), with taxi ranks and designated rideshare drop-off points also nearby.
