The WAFL Eagles have confirmed their team for Sunday’s round eight clash with Peel Thunder at Mineral Resources Park, with mid-season recruits Marcus Herbert and Oliver Francou set to make their first appearances in blue and gold.

All eyes will be on the exciting new additions, with Herbert (Geelong FC) and Francou (North Adelaide FC) named to debut after being selected in Tuesday’s AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft. The pair add fresh energy to the line-up and will be eager to make an immediate impact in their first outings for the club.

The 23-year-old Herbert has been named across half-back, bringing composure, ball use and strong football IQ to the Eagles’ transition, while Francou slots into the midfield rotation, with the 20-year-old adding speed and power around the contest alongside his strong work rate.

The inclusions headline five changes from the round seven side, with Harry Schoenberg returning to WAFL level after travelling as an AFL emergency last week, while Archer Reid has been named after overcoming a knee injury sustained in the round six Western Derby.

Tyler Brockman also returns for his first game of the season following a knee setback, adding speed and experience to the half-back line.
