West Coast Eagles trio Tom Cole, Noah Long and Jacob Newton will remain in blue and gold in 2027 after signing one-year contract extensions.

Premiership defender Cole will continue his 148-game career into his 12^th season after showing his versatility in West Coast’s forward line this year.

Eagles’ Head of List Management and Recruiting Matt Clarke highlighted Cole’s experience and importance to a young and developing group.

“Tom has been a terrific servant of the football club and has thoroughly earned this new deal through his performances, consistency and leadership,” Clarke said.

“His effort and contribution throughout the season have been invaluable, and we're delighted to see him rewarded with another contract.”

Long, who was selected from the Bendigo Pioneers with pick No.58 in the 2022 AFL Draft, was unable to add to his 36 career matches this season due to a knee injury.

The 22-year-old impressed over summer before the knee setback in a practice match ruled him out for the 2026 campaign.

“Noah has endured a frustrating run with injury, but our belief in his talent and potential has never wavered,” Clarke said.

“This extension reflects our commitment to supporting his return to play and our confidence that he still has an important role to play in the future of the club.”

Mid-season recruit Newton, 20, made his AFL debut in round 23 last year and played the first three games in 2026 before a foot injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season.

“Jacob has faced significant injury challenges, but he has continued to attack his rehabilitation with professionalism and determination,” Clarke said.

“We remain fully committed to his development and look forward to seeing him back on the field and contributing at AFL level.”
