West Coast Eagles ruck Matt Flynn has signed a one-year contract extension, committing to the club until at least the end of 2027.

Flynn arrived at the Eagles ahead of the 2024 season and has become a valued member of the football program, earning widespread respect through his leadership, professionalism and team-first approach.

The 29-year-old has provided important support in the ruck while also playing a key role in helping develop the club's emerging young talent.

"I've loved my time over the last three years at the club, my partner and I have fallen in love with Perth and I was excited to sign on," Flynn said.

"The club is in a really exciting position with so much young talent coming through and I can't wait to watch that grow again over the next 12 months."

Flynn has played 26 games for the Eagles since crossing from the Giants, taking his career tally to 59 matches.

He was named the WAFL Best and Fairest in 2026 after playing a crucial role for the Eagles’ standalone team in their most wins in a season.

Head of List Management and Recruiting Matt Clarke said Flynn's impact on the club extended well beyond his on-field contribution.

"Matt is a great person and a great competitor. He's highly respected within our football club and continues to have a strong influence on our group," Clarke said.

"He brings a team-first mindset every day and consistently drives standards through his preparation, professionalism and commitment to the club.

"We believe Matt has plenty of strong football left in him and we're excited about what he can continue to contribute over the next 12 months."
