West Coast Eagles high flier Liam Ryan has earned two nominations for the 2019 Mark of the Year award, while live wire small forward Willie Rioli is in the running to take out the Goal of the Year title.

Ryan took a number of spectacular grabs throughout the season, but his memorable efforts against Melbourne in round nine and Carlton in round 20 have put him in the mix to take out the coveted honour.

West Coast fans will not soon forget the 22-year-old’s incredible clunk against the Demons.

With scores locked at 67 points apiece, Ryan received the ball in the midfield and passed it off to a free Josh Kennedy.

Noticing there were no options in the attacking arc, he sprinted 60m towards the top of the goal square and called for the ball.

Kennedy obliged and sent the Sherrin Ryan's way.

The Geraldton product, whose eyes were locked on the ball, sprinted towards the top of the square, leapt into Melbourne goliath Max Gawn and pulled down a once-in-a-lifetime mark.

His second Mark of the Year contender was one of the bravest efforts ever seen on a football field.

Ryan dashed back with the flight of the ball, launched his slender 72kg frame at a pack of four oncoming players and clunked the Sherrin before careering into Carlton’s Lachie Plowman and teammate Jack Darling.

He capped off the spectacular grab by slotting his ensuing set shot from 30 metres out.

Rioli went to the candy shop on two occasions to win his Goal of the Year nomination in round 19 against North Melbourne at Optus Stadium.

The electric Tiwi Islands product sent the blue and gold army into rapture when he coolly crumbed a soccered ball from teammate Jake Waterman, stepped one defender, dodged an attempted smother from another Shinboner and snapped truly on his right boot from 10 metres out.

It was an extraordinary effort that put the Eagles 10 points ahead midway through the opening quarter.
