Emerging trio Josh Lindsay, Elijah Hewett and Tom Gross have been called up for Saturday’s clash against North Melbourne at Optus Stadium.

Following confirmation that mid-season rookie draftee Marcus Herbert will make his debut, the Eagles have locked in four changes for the round 14 ‘away’ game.

First-year defender Lindsay has been recalled after he was unlucky to be omitted for the narrow defeat to Port Adelaide, with damaging half-back Tom McCarthy sidelined by a hamstring complaint.

Hewett is back after an impressive patch of WAFL form and will play his first AFL game since round eight against Richmond, while Gross has broken through for his first appearance of the season and ninth career match.

Gross kicked 4.3 in the upset of WAFL ladder leaders Claremont last Saturday and has been selected across half-forward with Malakai Champion omitted.

Hewett has averaged 22.5 disposals since going back to the WAFL to play as a full-time midfielder, and had 21 touches, nine tackles and six inside 50s in the win against the Tigers.

Unfortunately, No.1 draft pick Willem Duursma has joined star defender Reuben Ginbey (quad) and McCarthy on the sidelines due to a calf injury, ruling him out of a second battle against his brother Zane.

Matt Flynn, Clay Hall and Sandy Brock are the emergencies.

Saturday’s clash gets underway at 2.15pm and all West Coast Eagles Reserved Seat members have access to the game in their normal seat as part of their membership package.

The match will be broadcast live on Channel 7 and 7-plus in WA, and nationally on Fox Footy and Kayo.
