Draft bio:

It was a surprise when Trew, one of the highly-touted West Australian midfielders in this year’s draft pool, slipped through to be a bargain rookie selection for the Eagles. A strong-bodied onballer who is blessed with clean hands and excellent stoppage craft, Trew knows how to find the footy and averaged 24.9 disposals, 12 contested possesions, 6.4 tackles and 5.4 clearances in seven games for Swans’ colts line-up this season. The 18-year-old turned recruiters’ heads after he starred in the 2018 under-16 national championships and earned All Australian selection. A dislocated shoulder was a setback in 2019 but Trew was a strong performer this season and has been lauded for his professionalism. His dedication to carving a career out of football should hold him in good stead at the highest level.
