West Coast will face crosstown rival Fremantle in men’s and women’s matches at Optus Stadium next Sunday after confirmation the Eagles will take on the Dockers in round six of the AFLW competition.

The super Sunday will see Daniel Pratt’s team square up against the Dockers for the second time this season after falling short in a tight round two tussle by nine points at Fremantle Oval.

The return clash will be an Eagles AFLW home game at WA’s home of football, with bouncedown at 1.40pm.

Adam Simpson’s men’s side will then face Fremantle for the second time in eight days from 4.10pm (AWST) as part of the AAMI Community Series.

"We look forward to supporters being able to safely attend Optus Stadium for the WA Derby double-header which will no doubt add another chapter to the already-fierce rivalry between the two Western Australian clubs,” AFL General Manager Women's Football Nicole Livingstone said.

“While relocation of teams was strongly considered, through close and continued consultation and feedback from players, the AFLPA and clubs, the decision to proceed with a return match was deemed to be the best option for the competition at this stage of the season.

“On behalf of the AFL, I want to again thank all clubs, players and the AFLPA, umpires, venues, governments, ticket agents and our broadcast and commercial partners for their understanding and continued support of the NAB AFL Women’s Competition. I also want to acknowledge the ongoing support from the AFLW football community this season through memberships, attendances and broadcasts.”

Tickets for the Optus Stadium double header will go on sale on Wednesday.
