While generating opportunities was problematic for the Eagles against Geelong, when they did venture inside the forward 50, Jack Darling proved a reliable target.

He has enjoyed a terrific start to the season and maintained that form line to be a clear winner in his position. He was lively in attack and took eight marks, most of them contested.

The athletic big man kicked just one goal, but certainly played his part. He has been an integral part of the Eagles’ best performances this season, in partnership with Josh Kennedy and Oscar Allen and will need to continue the effort against Fremantle next week.

With a little luck Kennedy will return next week after missing this match with an ankle issue, while Allen hit the scoreboard again in this match and kicked two goals.
