Lauren Wakfer has emerged as one of West Coast’s most important young talents, using her athleticism, aerial strength and impressive vertical leap to impact both in the ruck and forward line. Since making her AFLW debut in round one, 2023, Wakfer has developed into a key pillar of the Eagles’ side and a rising leader within the program. Her game reached new heights during the club’s breakthrough 2025 campaign, earning a third-place finish in the AFLW Club Champion award as she became a dangerous marking target inside 50 while continuing to provide valuable support in the ruck. Rewarded for her growth on and off the field, Wakfer was elevated into the leadership group and signed a four-year contract extension through to the end of 2030 ahead of the 2026 season.
