A star-studded midfield will roll out for the West Coast Eagles’ first pre-season clash, while four rookie-list hopefuls will have the opportunity to push their cases against Fremantle on Friday afternoon.

With the likes of Nic Naitanui, fellow dual John Worsfold medallist Elliot Yeo, Tim Kelly, Dom Sheed, Jack Redden and Andrew Gaff fit and available the Eagles will get a look at their close to full-strength engine room.

Skipper Luke Shuey (hamstring) is missing from the first-choice onball division, with star defender Jeremy McGovern to lead the team in his absence at Mineral Resources Park.

Following his four-goal effort in the intraclub, Jake Waterman will hope to build on his form against opposition for the first time in 2022, while ruck-forward Bailey Williams is another with opportunity in front of him.

Pre-season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP) hopefuls Tyler Keitel and Hugh Dixon – against his former club - are also in line for chances in attack supporting veteran spearhead Josh Kennedy.

South Fremantle duo Toby McQuilkin and Tom Blechynden will also take on the Dockers as they push for a rookie spot as SSP players.

While Liam Ryan (Health and Safety Protocols) and Jamie Cripps (pectoral) are missing from the attack, goalsneak Willie Rioli is set to return for his first appearance for the club since the 2019 elimination final win over Essendon.

Exciting draftees Campbell Chesser and Brady Hough will also get their first taste against an AFL opposition.

Tomorrow’s practice match will be staged behind closed doors at MRP however the game will be streamed on Kayo, with bouncedown at 4.40pm.

The game will consist of four 30-minute quarters.
