For Round 12 of the AFLW season, we’re proud to celebrate Jayne, a passionate Eagles member whose love for the Blue and Gold extends beyond match day, sharing every high and low alongside her four-legged Eagles fan, Missy.
Part of the Blue and Gold Family
For Jayne, being a West Coast Eagles member is about belonging to something bigger and standing behind the team no matter the result.
“Being an Eagles member means being part of a big Blue and Gold family, supporting the team win or lose.”
That sense of loyalty is at the heart of Jayne’s connection to the Club. Through the highs and lows, she’s proud to be part of the Eagles family and support the team every step of the way.
A Derby Win to Remember
When asked to choose her favourite moment from West Coast’s AFLW journey, Jayne looked back on a historic milestone for the Club.
“Being at their first win at Leederville against Fremantle. It was exciting and a historic victory.”
The first Derby win was a historic milestone for the Club, and being able to celebrate the win from the stands made the moment even more special for Jayne.
Blue and Gold for Two
Game day means one thing for Jayne: it’s time to bring out the Blue and Gold. And she’s not the only one who gets dressed for the occasion.
“Getting myself dressed up in Blue and Gold and dressing my dog Missy in her Eagles jumper.”
With both Jayne and Missy decked out in Blue and Gold, their matchday tradition is one they can always share together.
One to Watch
Among the current AFLW playing group, Lucia Painter is the player who most excites Jayne.
“The AFLW player that excites me now would be Lucia Painter. Her first game last year was magic.”
Painter made an immediate impression on Jayne, and she has enjoyed following her journey in the Blue and Gold ever since.
Jayne’s Message to the Team
If Jayne had the opportunity to share a message with the players before they run out, she would encourage them to embrace everything that comes with representing the Eagles.
“Enjoy the game. Soak up the atmosphere of the crowd.”
It’s a simple message that captures Jayne’s own approach to supporting the Club: enjoy every moment, embrace the atmosphere and proudly share the journey as part of the Eagles family.
