The WAFL Eagles have added further talent to their 2027 squad, securing promising ruck Isaac Waller and powerful forward Mitch Toner.

Waller joins West Coast after spending the past two seasons playing VFL football with the Brisbane Lions.

The 204cm ruck is a product of the Lions Academy program and represented the Allies at the 2025 under 18 National Championships before continuing his development at VFL level.

Combining impressive athleticism with a strong competitive edge, Waller will add further size and depth to the Eagles' ruck stocks next season.

West Coast Eagles Head of WAFL Steve Trewhella said the club was excited to secure the developing big man.

Isaac Waller

“Isaac has terrific athleticism and a competitive nature to his game, and we are excited to have secured his signature for the 2027 season,” Trewhella said.

“His move west will bolster our ruck stocks, and we are excited to see what he can bring to the WAFL competition in 2027.”

Joining Waller at the WAFL Eagles is exciting Dandenong Stingrays forward Mitch Toner.

The powerfully built 186cm forward enjoyed an impressive 2026 campaign, playing 18 games and averaging 15.3 disposals, 3.9 marks, two tackles and 2.1 goals per game.

Toner finished the season with 37 goals, underlining his ability to consistently impact the scoreboard while providing a strong presence in the forward half.

He also earned an opportunity at VFL level with Williamstown, booting 1.1 on his senior debut.

Trewhella said Toner’s physicality and competitive nature would provide another exciting addition to the Eagles' forward line.

“Mitch’s defining physical attributes of strength, power and competitiveness will add toughness and excitement to the team in 2027,” Trewhella said.

Trewhella said both recruits also aligned strongly with the qualities the club had targeted throughout its recruiting process.

“Our recruiting strategy has been about identifying players who not only have the talent to improve our team, but also have the character, competitiveness and appetite to get better,” Trewhella said.

“We believe Isaac and Mitch fit that profile really well, and we’re excited to see what they can achieve in our environment.”
