Developing ruck Callum Jamieson and utility Samo Petrevski-Seton stood tall for the WAFL Eagles on a miserable night for football on Saturday night to press their claims for immediate recalls to the senior team against Gold Coast.

In torrid conditions at Mineral Resources Park, the Eagles struggled to hit the scoreboard and went goalless until coming home with a wet sail and kicking four final term majors in the 57-point defeat to new ladder leader West Perth, 12.18 (90) to 4.9 (33).

Jamieson was impressive, finishing the match with 22 disposals and 28 hit-outs, with Petrevski-Seton also prominent after being the unused medi-sub against Hawthorn last round and being sent back to the state league to get a full game under his belt.

Petrevski-Seton had 20 disposals, with Jackson Nelson the Eagles’ leading possession-winner with 27, while Patrick Naish (22) and midfield tough nut Greg Clark (20) also worked hard.

Tall forward Hugh Dixon (18 disposals) and Zac Langdon (11) both kicked majors, along with Harry Creasey and Josh Burke.

Aaron Black, who was a Covid Contingency List player for the Eagles in round two, had 25 touches for the Falcons, with Shane Nelson (32) and Luke Meadows (30) finding plenty of the ball.
