West Coast is set to continue its AFLW list build when the competition’s sign and trade period begins on Monday.

Having already secured the services of emerging 17-year-old talents Mikayla Bowen and Rosie Deegan, the Eagles will soon have the opportunity to recruit several experienced AFLW players to its nest ahead of October’s 2019 NAB AFLW Draft.

During the AFLW sign and trade period, which runs from April 8-18, the club can secure up to 12 players from existing teams, including two tier one athletes.

However, under the sign and trade period rules, the club cannot recruit more than eight players from either Fremantle or Brisbane and is limited to targeting a maximum four players from Adelaide, Greater Western Sydney or any of the Victorian-based teams.

The AFLW’s rookie signing period also open on Monday. It runs until the end of August.

It is during this timeframe that the Eagles will be able to sign up to seven athletes from its Female Academy.

At the conclusion of the sign and trade period, West Coast will have access to free agent players.

The AFLW free agency period opens on April 19 and runs until April 30.
