The 18-year-old played for six teams this year – including VFL for Essendon and Carlton – and was Vic Country’s MVP at the national under-18s championships after averaging 20 disposals, 13 contested possessions, a carnival-high seven clearances, while kicking 5.6, to also earn back-to-back All-Australian honours.
