Young West Coast Eagles forward Ella Roberts has finished in third place in the Rising Star votes at the W Awards on Monday night, further highlighting the teenager’s incredible season.

Roberts tallied 23 votes behind Ally Morphett who finished with 40 votes, and Zarlie Goldsworthy who won the award with 41 votes.

The 18-year-old was nominated for the Rising Star after her impressive performance in round one against Fremantle in the AFLW RAC Derby, where she managed a game-high 24 touches, four marks and four tackles, and was award the RAC Derby medal for best on ground.

Roberts was recently named in the final 22Under22 team and was the most selected forward across the competition for a place in the side.

The teen star finished runner up Eagles Club Champion for her standout 2023 season, constantly impressing with her reliable and consistent high-flying marks, ferocious tackles and her thumping kick.

Exciting Eagles up-and-coming talent Lauren Wakfer was also in attendance, having been nominated for the Rising Star in round five for her impressive performance against Port Adelaide, managing 14 disposals, seven tackles, six clearances and 14 hitouts.
