Bullocking midfielder Elliot Yeo provided a further reminder of what the Eagles have missed in recent seasons with another stellar performance against Sydney.

While Sydney star Isaac Heeney was a unanimous choice as the winner of the HMAS Sydney Trophy for best afield, Yeo was clearly the Eagles best.

The powerful midfield ace had 28 possessions, 13 of them contested, and sent the ball inside 50 nine times as he helped to present the forward line with opportunities.

Yeo also had eight tackles and together with Tim Kelly’s nine tackles, Harley Reid’s (seven) and Reuben Ginbey’s (six) they did everything they could to prevent Sydney from breaking forward into space.

Wingman Jayden Hunt was another important factor with 21 disposals, eight inside 50 entries and 533 metres gained through his explosive run.
