Five West Coast Eagles players have been nominated for the 2024 AFL Players’ AFLW MVP Awards, which are voted on by the entire AFLW playing group.

Eagles' 2024 Club Champion Ella Roberts, co-vice-captain Bella Lewis and exciting young defender Beth Schilling have all been nominated for the AFL Players’ Most Valuable Player award.

Roberts had an outstanding season, the 19-year-old named in the final 22Under22 team and received her first All-Australian nod with a place in the extended squad.

Emerging leader Lewis continues to grow, develop and guide her teammates both on and off the field, and was recognised for her impressive season with a third-place finish at the Eagles’ 2024 Club Champion Awards.

Breakout defender Beth Schilling had a career-best season in the blue and gold, earning herself the Week Two Rising Star nomination and was named in the extended 22Under22 squad for her efforts.

Young recruit Jess Rentsch has been nominated for the AFL Players’ Best First Year Player, after an impressive debut season in the League, showing her versatility through a variety of roles, and making her presence felt around the ground.

Inaugural Eagles captain Emma Swanson has been nominated for both AFL Players’ Best Captain Award and AFL Players’ Most Courageous Player Award, producing another stellar season, her ninth in the League, and ninth as captain.

Voting for the AFLW MVP, Most Courageous, Best First-Year Player and Best Captain awards is a two-stage process, with players nominating their teammates in stage one, before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

Players cannot vote for a player from their own club during stage two of the voting process.

The AFL Players’ Association will announce the award winners at an event on Tuesday, November 26, with the results published across the AFLPA’s social media channels.
