Waalitj Marawar forwards Jamie Cripps and Matt Owies are both set to spend around a month on the sidelines.
Cripps requires surgery on an ongoing knee complaint, while Owies sustained a calf injury in Sunday’s win over Euro-Yroke at Optus Stadium.
“Jamie Cripps has been managing a knee issue for the first half of the season,” High Performance Manager Mat Inness told westcoasteagles.com.au.
“With symptoms getting worse, the decision has been made to put him in for surgery, allowing him to have a good run at the back end of the season post-bye, so he will miss the next month.
“Matt Owies suffered a moderate grade calf injury in the second quarter on the weekend, so will unfortunately also miss around a month.”
Elliot Yeo has been given a return-to-play timeframe of six-to-seven weeks after recently undergoing follow-up surgery to remove some metal from his ankle that was preventing him progressing his rehab.
“In good news, Elliot Yeo has started to run outside, and he will continue to progress his rehab in the coming weeks.” Inness said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Club advised champion defender Jeremy McGovern would consult an AFL Concussion Panel to provide a broader scope of assessment and treatment options informing his immediate and long-term health.
In encouraging news, emerging wingman Campbell Chesser is closing in on playing his first game for the season following ankle surgery in February.
