The WAFL Eagles claimed their second win of the season with a consistent four-quarter effort, defeating the Lions 14.3 (87) to 8.9 (57).

Senior coach Kyal Horsley said the team delivered a solid four-quarter effort to come away with a five-goal win.

“The team showed a genuine selfless mindset, constantly supporting one another across all areas of the game.” Horsley said.

“It was a tightly contested game with momentum swinging both ways. We started well and then were really challenged in the third quarter.

“To the players credit we rallied and held off the challenge and were able to pull away late in the game.

“It’s a well-deserved reward for the players and everyone involved in the program. It was great to see all the smiles and enjoy the celebrations among the group post-game.”
