The West Coast Eagles have named an extended squad for their round two clash with Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday.
Exciting youngster Kayley Kavanagh is set to make her debut in the blue and gold, becoming the third debutant for the Eagles so far this season.
Kavanagh was selected by West Coast in the 2023 AFLW draft with pick no. 14, the talented inside midfielder hailing from the Calder Cannons and Victoria Metro.
The 20-year-old unfortunately suffered an ACL injury last pre-season, sidelining her for the entire 2024 campaign, but is set to get her highly anticipated AFLW career underway.
Reigning leading goal-kicker Kellie Gibson comes into the squad and is set to play her first game of 2025, bolstering West Coast’s forward line ahead of a tough ask on the Bombers' home turf.
Midfielder Sanne Bakker and forward Courtney Lindgren have also come into the extended squad, while defender Beth Schilling comes out with a season-ending foot injury.
West Coast will confirm its final 21-player team to face the Bombers at 3pm WST on Friday.
Bouncedown for Sunday’s clash is 2:35pm local (12:35pm WST), and it will be broadcast live on 7mate, Fox Sports and Kayo.
