The West Coast Eagles have secured contract extensions for emerging trio Jobe Shanahan, Rhett Bazzo and Bo Allan in a boost to the Club’s list build.

Since arriving at the Eagles, the trio have shown promising signs for the future, forming part of an exciting new generation of Eagles striving to establish themselves at AFL level.

Shanahan, who was an astute selection at pick 30 in the 2024 draft, has signed a two-year extension to his initial draft contract, keeping him at West Coast until 2028.

The towering forward has impressed in his debut season with his vice-like hands and football nous, averaging over four marks and a goal in eight games so far.

“We are really excited to see Jobe sign on for two more years,” Head of List Management and Recruiting, Matt Clarke, said.

“He has shown his ability on-field and his work ethic off-field. It’s a great sign of commitment to the Club.”

Allan was the Eagles’ top draft pick last year at No.14 overall and has also signed until 2028 – adding a year to his mandatory three-year draft contract.

The competitive Peel product faced challenges with injury and illness in 2025 but has impressed in both AFL and WAFL games with his contested ball-winning ability and versatility.

“Bo has terrific athletic tools and competitive traits that will enable him to play multiple roles in our coach Andrew McQualter’s system,” Allan said.

“He is highly motivated and committed to becoming the best player he can be.”

Key defender Bazzo has extended for one year until 2026, after overcoming injury and putting together a strong campaign.

The 21-year-old is set to play his seventh consecutive AFL game in the round 24 clash against Sydney on Saturday night at Optus Stadium.

“It has been great to see Rhett get continuity in his body and show the form required at WAFL to break into the AFL side,” Clarke said.

“He is a very popular member of our playing group, and he has battled through adversity to achieve this result.

“A strong pre-season will set Rhett up for a big 2026.”
