The West Coast Eagles have made two changes to their round two lineup, with debutant Kayley Kavanagh and experienced forward Kellie Gibson suiting up to face Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday.
Talented young midfielder Kavanagh will make her highly anticipated debut in the blue and gold, after missing the 2024 season with an ACL injury.
The 20-year-old is a reliable contributor with her production, defensive pressure and clean hands, and she will be the third debutant in the opening two rounds for the developing Eagles AFLW side.
Experienced forward and reigning leading-goal kicker Gibson returns to the lineup this week to make her first appearance in the Eagles’ 2025 campaign.
Gibson will bolster West Coast’s forward line, providing another strong target up forward, along with guidance and leadership to her developing young teammates.
Kavanagh and Gibson come in to the team for Beth Schilling (foot) and Sarah Lakay (omitted).
Lakay, Sanne Bakker and Courtney Lindgren have been named as emergencies.
Bouncedown for Sunday’s clash is 2:35pm local (12:35pm WST), and it will be broadcast live on 7mate, Fox Sports and Kayo.
