The West Coast Eagles have named their extended squad for Sunday’s matchup with Melbourne at Casey Fields.

Emerging defender Annabel Johnson is set to make her club debut against the Demons, having overcome a knee injury sustained in the pre-season.

Johnson was recruited from Geelong ahead of the 2024 season but was unable to debut in her first year in the west after an ACL injury in the pre-season saw her sidelined for the year.

After another unfortunate injury set back ahead of the 2025 season, Johnson’s resilience and work ethic never wavered, and have finally paid off as she gets set to suit up in the blue and gold this weekend.

Experienced defender Belinda Smith and midfielder Kayley Kavanagh have been included into the squad, having both been named as emergencies for last week's RAC Derby.

Young recruit Lucy Boyd has also been named in the extended squad, with the final 21-player team to be confirmed at 3pm WST on Friday.

Johnson and Boyd come into the squad for Emma Swanson, who will miss this round due to suspension, and Lucia Painter who is in concussion protocols.

Bouncedown for Sunday’s clash is 11:05am WST and it will be broadcast live on Channel 7, Fox Sports and Kayo.
