Wins over Swan Districts and Peel Thunder on Sunday see the Eagles notch three on the trot to begin the season and take an early spot in second place in the WA Wheelchair Football League.
The Eagles were dominant for much of their first game against the Swans, with an all-around team performance leading to a 13.14 (92) to 7.4 (46) victory.
The Eagles came out swinging in the first quarter scoring seven goals to one, with the transition from defence to offence being in full force as the squad showed why they’re the reigning premiers holding a 51-point lead at half-time.
The Swans rallied in the second half to provide a highly even and competitive contest to finish the game, but the Eagles’ lead proved much too strong to chip into with a 46-point victory at the final siren.

The second match saw the squad come up against Peel Thunder, the newest entrant into the WAWFL, with the Eagles proving too good in a 14.15 (99) to 6.6. (42) victory.
It was almost déjà vu for the fast-starting Eagles as they were dangerous in front of goal early to take a 41-point lead by the main break.
Reigning Best and Fairest winner Paul Whitehurst and newly appointed captain Ben Green showed why they’re a duo to be feared, finishing the match with ten goals between them to cap off a 57-point victory against the Thunder.

In addition to his strong performance on the weekend, it was also announced that Green has been selected to once again represent Western Australia in the 2025 Toyota AFL Open.
It’s Green’s third straight year being named in the WA state squad, with 2024 seeing him selected as an All Australian for the first time after some fantastic performances at the carnival in Brisbane.
