The 20-year-old forward-mid described the achievement as a “massive honour” and credited her teammates and staff for their support throughout a season of growth.
“I think with the amount that the group has grown in the last year, it’s becoming more and more rewarding to be awarded with an honour like this,” Roberts said.
“I wasn’t sure what would happen after missing a game, so to be awarded again is really special.”
After claiming the award last season, Roberts entered 2025 determined to elevate her game even further, and highlighted professionalism and consistency as key focus areas.
“The longer I’ve been in the system, the more professional I’ve become,” Roberts said.
“Doing the little things outside the club and being an athlete all year round really helped me take that next step.”
With a full pre-season still ahead, Roberts is excited about what the future holds.
“I have to remind myself I’m only 20 years old and I’m still learning,” Roberts said.
“With a full pre-season and another year under my belt, I know I can grow even more and I’m really looking forward to what we can achieve as a team.”
Roberts also praised senior coach Daisy Pearce for giving her the freedom to play to her strengths.
“Daisy knows my game so well and gets the balance right,” Roberts said.
“She’s helped me play my best football and impact games when it matters.”
The Margaret River product also expressed pride in inspiring the next generation, with her hometown recently introducing a senior women’s football team.
“When I was playing footy there, I was the only female playing,” Roberts said.
“To see how far it’s come is amazing, and I’m so proud to be part of that journey.”
