West Coast Eagles recruit Brandon Starcevich has been selected to represent Western Australia in the 2026 AAMI AFL Origin game on February 14.

Starcevich will don the black and gold alongside the likes of new Eagles teammate and fellow defender Liam Baker, plus former Brisbane premiership teammates Callum Ah Chee and Charlie Cameron.

The 26-year-old East Perth product joined West Coast in the 2025 AFL Trade Period, returning to his home state on the back of consecutive Grand Final wins and 132 games with the Lions.

Starcevich said he’s excited to represent his home state and don the black and gold.

“I’m extremely proud to be selected to represent WA in the return of Origin footy, and I’m very honoured to be given the opportunity,” Starcevich said.

“It will be good to see Optus Stadium decked out in black and gold, hopefully. I think it definitely gives us a bit of an edge to be playing at home.

“Sam Taylor is a good mate of mine so I’m keen to play with him again, and just keen to play alongside all the elite WA talent.

“I’m really excited to be a party of the renewal of the rivalry between the states, it will certainly mean a little bit more to all involved and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere and the build up to the game.”

The AAMI AFL Origin game will start at 4:40pm WST on Saturday, February 14 at Optus Stadium, with the game to be broadcast on Channel 7 and Fox, and streamed on 7Plus and Kayo.
