In great news for West Coast Eagles fans, talented defender Brady Hough has been named in the final team to take on Gold Coast on Sunday.
Hough suffered an ankle during the pre-season that had him sidelined for a month, but completed his rehabilitation in time to play a WAFL practice match and for the Eagles’ 2026 campaign to get underway.
Hough is joined by emerging defender Bo Allan, set to play his seventh game in the blue and gold, along with athletic wingman Hamish Davis who has earnt his ninth call up after an excellent summer.
Experienced midfielder Jack Graham is confirmed for round one, after overcoming a hamstring strain in recent weeks, and will play an important role through the Eagles’ engine room in his 150th AFL game.
Mid-season pickup Jacob Newton is locked in following an impressive pre-season period, showing plenty of promise with two goals in the Eagles’ Community Series clash with Port Adelaide.
West Coast will be rolling out a new-look line-up on Sunday, with six new Eagles earning their wings in an exciting start to the season.
Exciting draftees Willem Duursma, Cooper Duff-Tytler and Josh Lindsay, along with mature-aged recruit Milan Murdock will all make their AFL debuts, while Deven Robertson and Tylar Young will make their club debuts in their new colours.
Tim Kelly, Rhett Bazzo and Fin Macrae have been named as emergencies for Sunday’s matchup.
The Eagles’ clash with the Suns begins at 5.10pm (3.10pm AWST) on Sunday at People First Stadium and will be broadcast live in WA on 7 and 7-plus, and nationally on Fox Footy and Kayo.
