West Coast Eagles midfielder Ali Drennan has announced her pregnancy, with her and her partner Jay expecting their first baby in September.
This exciting announcement will see Drennan miss the 2026 AFLW season as she prepares for her new arrival.
Drennan is one of the team’s most experienced players, with 70 AFLW games under her belt, the last 18 of those in the blue and gold.
The 35-year-old was elevated into the leadership group in her second season with the club, highlighting her character and influence both on and off the field.
“We are absolutely thrilled for Alison and her family as they embark on this exciting new chapter,” Head of Women’s Football Michelle Cowan said.
“While we’ll miss having her out on the track with us, we couldn’t be happier to celebrate such wonderful news and will continue to support her every step of the way.”
Drennan will be added to the inactive list and will remain in her home state of Victoria with her family, where she has been spending her offseason.
