The WAFL Eagles snapped a 12-game losing hoodoo and claimed a third straight win, edging Swan Districts 13.15 (93) to 14.10 (94) in a tight finish.

Senior Coach Kyal Horsley said the game had everything, making it an incredible moment in the WAFL Eagles’ eighth season to finally get a win over Swan Districts.

“Arguably, it included the most impressive 20 minutes of football we’ve played in my time,” Horsley said.

“But what I was most proud of was how the group responded when challenged.

“We were headed, the momentum shifted, but we found a way to fight back, regain the lead, and hold on.

“For such a young group, these moments are invaluable for building resilience and developing the mental side of their game.”

Arguably Luca’s best game this year. Found the right balance defensively, shut down his opponent, and used the ball with precision (100% efficiency).

It was Fred’s first game for the club after a long layoff, and he showed no signs of rust. A strong performance in limited minutes with plenty of upside ahead.

One of those days where the effort didn’t match the reward. He worked hard, got to the right spots, and stuck to his role. If he continues like this, the rewards will come.
