An inside midfielder with an impressive blend of speed, endurance and toughness, Francou has made a strong early impression in senior SANFL football.

The son of former Port Adelaide player Josh Francou, Oliver has quickly built his own reputation as a hard-working and competitive midfielder, averaging 31 disposals and eight tackles across his first five senior games for North Adelaide.

Comfortable in the contest and around stoppages, Francou combines his work rate with the rare ability to cover the ground and break away from congestion, making him a damaging presence in the midfield.

West Coast Eagles National Recruiting Manager Duane Massey said Francou’s athletic profile and competitiveness had stood out early in the season.

“Oliver’s speed and power combined with his ability to consistently outwork opponents through his endurance has been particularly notable,” Massey said.

“With his strong work ethic and competitive nature, and turning 21 early next year, we believe he will integrate well into our emerging group of young talent.”
