The year-long Diploma in Sport Business (F00) takes place at our world-class facilities at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain. You will develop the skills and knowledge to manage people, build relationships, networks, and teams in sport, and become a better leader.
This unique opportunity allows you to learn within the elite environment of the West Coast Eagles and connect with industry experts, engaging with our staff, players, and coaches. You will have access to up to 100 hours of work-integrated learning across various departments within the West Coast Eagles to learn how an AFL club operates, build your professional network and supercharge your resume.

By completing the Diploma in Sport Business, you will be eligible to apply for up to one year of university credit towards select undergraduate ECU degrees.

The West Coast Eagles Academy of Sport Business and Edith Cowan University gave me the opportunity to turn my prior experience into a full-time role at the conclusion of my studies. What qualification will I receive?
Students who complete all eight units will receive a Diploma in Sport Business from ECU.
What roles are available at West Coast Eagles for graduates to apply for?
2025 Graduates were employed in our Community & Game Development and Consumer Business Departments at the Club.
The graduate entry level positions will only be available to students who successfully complete the Diploma in Sport Business. There will be a formal application and interview process as students near completion of the course and students are encouraged to highlight their suitability for these roles, alongside their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm while completing up to 100 hours of work-based learning.
The roles available will depend on a number of factors, including (but not limited to):
The operational requirements of the West Coast Eagles Football Club at the time of recruitment, especially regarding the roles and responsibilities in demand.
The capabilities and aptitude demonstrated by students while completing the course.
The student’s interests/preferences regarding the various departments within the West Coast Eagles organisation and taking into consideration the student’s career aspirations.
The relationships developed between individual students and staff during the course.
*A minimum for 60 hours of workplace learning must be completed with WCE to apply for graduate positions.

What will my weekly schedule look like?
The course is delivered full-time and requires the following commitment.
You will have face-to-face classes for 2 days a week at the West Coast Eagles Football Club headquarters in Lathlain during the academic semester.
Students should also spend at least 7 hours per week preparing for class and working on their assessment per unit, while additional hours will be required during the football season to complete the workplace applied learning with the West Coast Eagles Football Club and other sporting organisations and bodies.
What do I need to participate in the Diploma in Sport Business?
Laptop (needs to be brought to all classes).

Existing digital skills – Microsoft Office suite, including access to Microsoft Teams.
