For Round 18, we're proud to celebrate Shane, a passionate Eagles member whose commitment to the blue and gold stretches across the country, with plenty of special memories and unwavering belief in the club's future.

Proud to be part of something bigger

For Shane, membership is about more than attending games; it's about contributing to one of Australia's biggest sporting clubs.

"It's an honour," he says.

"To be able to contribute meaningfully to one of the biggest sporting clubs in the country gives you a great sense of pride."

Memories that never fade

Ask Shane about his favourite Eagles memories and there's no shortage of contenders.

"Any of our Grand Final wins, or the comeback against Geelong in 2006," he says.

One match in particular remains etched in his memory.

"My first home game at Subiaco was the 2005 Qualifying Final."

For Shane, it delivered an experience he'll never forget.

"It was an instant classic and the loudest crowd I've experienced at an Eagles game," he recalls.

The atmosphere, the intensity and the passion of the Eagles faithful left a lasting impression.

"These games always bring a smile to my face."

Getting there early

While every supporter has their own game-day rituals, Shane's focus is on soaking up every moment of the pre-match atmosphere.

"I like to get in early to watch the warm-up and enjoy the pre-game before the boys run out," he says.

It's a simple tradition, but one that allows him to take in the excitement and anticipation that builds before the first bounce.

Living directly above Melbourne's Marvel Stadium also has its perks.

"It's super handy for a lot of games," he says, ensuring he can be close to the action whenever the Eagles are in town.

 Excited by the next generation

Like many Eagles members, Shane sees plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the club's future.

"The obvious ones are Harley and Willem, Jobe Shanahan and Reuben Ginbey," he says.

But it's not just the headline names catching his eye.

"I like the way Bo Allen is playing and the composure of Josh Lindsay."

For Shane, the emerging talent across the list is a reason for genuine excitement.

"You can tell these guys are all going to be good players for a long time," he says.

"There are a lot of positive signs!"

A message to the team

Shane's message to the players is straightforward and full of encouragement:

"Bring the pressure and keep having a crack – effort and attitude are free!"

It's a sentiment that reflects the resilience and determination Eagles members value most, and the qualities Shane loves seeing every week.

Through All the Way West, members like Shane remind us that Eagles pride extends far beyond Western Australia. Whether reliving unforgettable finals memories, arriving early to take in the atmosphere, or backing the next generation of talent, it's the passion and dedication of members that continues to unite the blue and gold community.
