The West Coast Eagles have re-signed midfielder Sam Allen, with the 19-year-old extending his initial two-year draft contract through to 2028.
Allen arrived at West Coast via pick 29 in last year's AFL Draft and has impressed the club with his professionalism and dedication since joining the program.
While knee and hamstring injuries have limited his opportunities this season, Allen said he was excited by the direction of the playing group and the future being built at the Eagles.
“First and foremost, I feel so grateful and privileged to be at this club,” Allen said.
“There’s so much to look forward to with this group and I’m so excited to play a part in shaping the next few years.
“The players and staff have welcomed me with open arms and the move over has been such a positive experience.
“I can’t wait to attack the next few years with hard work and dedication and continue driving towards a successful future.”
Head of List Management and Recruiting Matt Clarke praised Allen’s dedication and professionalism.
“While we understand Sam has had a frustrating season due to injury, we have great confidence in his future and see him as an important long-term prospect for our club,” Clarke said.
“His professionalism, resilience and commitment throughout this period have been outstanding, and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop and contribute in the years ahead.”
