AFLW team selection: Eagles locked in for Pies pre-season clash

The Eagles have confirmed their team for Friday’s pre-season clash with Collingwood

The West Coast Eagles have confirmed their 24-player lineup to take on Collingwood in Friday’s pre-season matchup at Mineral Resources Park.

This game will be the Eagles first official practice match in the lead up to the 2026 campaign, following two match simulations against Port Adelaide and Adelaide.

Eagles’ fans will have the opportunity to get a glimpse of some exciting new recruits, including Keeley Skepper, Sienna Gerardi and Mia Russo, as they gear up for a big season ahead.

Star midfielder Ella Roberts will suit up against the Pies, alongside fellow Australia v Ireland representative and Eagles co-captain Charlie Thomas.

Fan-favourites Lauren and Zoe Wakfer will both take the field, Lauren impressing in the match simulations with her strong marking up forward, and Zoe with her aerial presence in the back line.

Tough nut Jess Rentsch is in the mix, the 2025 Rising Star nominee ready to elevate her game to the next level this season, while key forward Amy Franklin will play an important role for the team in front of goals.

Isabella Shannon (Perth FC) and Ruby Sargent-Wilson (Claremont FC) will don the blue and gold as top-up players for the practice match.

The Eagles v Pies matchup will be open to the public and streamed live at westcoasteagles.com.au from 12pm WST.
