The WAFL Eagles father-son prospect Harper Banfield is set to make his League debut against West Perth in Joondalup on Saturday.

A member of the club’s Academy, Banfield follows in the footsteps of his father, dual premiership great and Hall of Fame member, Drew Banfield.

Harper Banfield has earned his opportunity after an outstanding under-18s National Championships campaign for Western Australia, playing all four matches and averaging 23 disposals and six tackles.

Banfield has been named on the interchange and will look to make an immediate impact in his first League appearance.

The WAFL Eagles have made four changes for the clash with the Falcons, with Josh Lindsay, Cooper Duff-Tytler and Harry Barnett returning from injuries.

Lindsay has been selected across half-back alongside Lucca Grego and Fred Rodriguez, while Duff-Tytler and Barnett will provide a significant aerial presence in attack.

The inclusions come as Sam Cipriani is unavailable due to a shoulder injury, while Corey Hitchcock, Andries Mercer and Justin Prior have been omitted.

The match starts at 4.30pm and will be broadcast live on 7Plus.
