Marquee home games and limited interstate travel mid-season are among the features of the West Coast Eagles’ AFL fixture for 2027.

The AFL on Thursday locked in the opening 16 rounds of next season, while only the opposition and venue have been confirmed for the remaining eight rounds.

West Coast opens the season at Optus Stadium against Gold Coast (Sunday, March 21) and will also host Port Adelaide in round three (Sunday, April 4) following a rare Canberra trip to face the Giants.

The Eagles will also host Collingwood (round seven, Saturday, May 1), Carlton on WA Day eve (round 12, Sunday, June 6) and the Western Bulldogs (round 13, Saturday, June 12) under lights in primetime match-ups.

Between rounds 11 to 17, the Eagles will only fly east once – to take on Richmond at the MCG in round 16.

West Coast will head south to Bunbury for an ‘away’ game against North Melbourne in round 11, followed by consecutive Optus Stadium games against the Blues and Dogs before the bye and the subsequent road trip against the Tigers.

That MCG visit – the first of two for the season - will be followed by back-to-back home games against Adelaide on Friday night (July 2) and Essendon (time and date TBC).

West Coast will host the Western Derby in round 19 coming off the team’s first match at the SCG in four years against Sydney.

The ‘away’ Derby in round five will follow Gather Round and be played on a Friday night for just the third time in history.

A first trip to Canberra since 2006 awaits the Eagles in round two on Easter Saturday against Greater Western Sydney, while the team will face Brisbane at the Gabba over the Anzac Round weekend in round six.

Overall, the Eagles will play interstate games in Melbourne (four), Adelaide (two) and Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Geelong (one each).

West Coast’s 'double-up' matches will be against Fremantle, Sydney, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Richmond and Essendon.

The Eagles will host the Swans for the first weekend of Sir Doug Nicholls Round in round nine.

The first meeting with the Demons at the MCG on Mother’s Day in round eight (Sunday, May 9) shapes as a potential return for Eagles recruits Jack Viney and Trent Rivers to face their former team.
