Jeremy McGovern could miss West Coast’s round three encounter with Brisbane after being cited by AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian following the Eagles’ 44-point loss to Gold Coast on Saturday.

McGovern was charged with striking the Suns’ Alex Sexton during the third quarter of the contest at Metricon Stadium and has been offered a one-match sanction.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and High Contact.

The four-time all-Australian was also charged with engaging in Rough Conduct against Sexton during the third quarter of the match, for which he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available evidence, the second of McGovern’s incidents was assessed as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and Body Contact.

The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction as a first offence, but the defender can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
