West Coast Eagle Brent Staker has completed his CelebriArt masterpiece which will be auctioned off to raise much needed funds for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

Staker has been working closely with West Australian artist Di Taylor who has taken him under her wing and passed on her knowledge.

“I was pretty happy how it turned out and I hope it gets sold and goes to a good home,” Staker said.

The CelebritiArt initiative involves over thirty West Australian celebrities who have all tested their skills on a canvas.

Some of the other celebrities who have completed “works of art” include the 96FM Breakfast Crew, Adrian Barich and Olympic gold pole vaulter Steve Hooker.

Last year $85,000 was raised for the children at PMH and this year Staker is hopeful for more success.

“I do a lot of stuff for PMH and being involved in the CelebritiArt campaign raises much needed money for PMH. It’s great to be involved and the money is going to a good cause, so how could you say no.

“The painting is called Outback Memory and is based on growing up in the bush in Broken Hill, so hopefully someone will see that and want to buy it,” said Staker.

The painting will be auctioned at an exclusive cocktail party to be held on June 5 at the King Street Art Gallery.
