If Jeremy McGovern is still in discomfort from a fractured thumb, there has been no sign of it in the last fortnight.

A week ago he and Tom Barrass dominated the air in the back half and against GWS yesterday, the four time all-Australian was elite.

This time his co-pilot was Nic Naitanui, albeit in a different capacity in the ruck, as opposed to Barrass who focused on keeping Jeremy Cameron off the score sheet.

In the meantime, McGovern took 10 marks, eight of them intercepts.

One in the second quarter when he sat on the shoulders of Harry Himmelberg will take some beating for mark of the year.

If you haven’t seen it already, you will.

And he flew even higher to effect a crucial spoil in the last quarter, forcing it over the line for a behind when the Orange wave was gaining momentum.

With 18 possessions – 16 of them kicks – and his 10 assertive grabs McGovern was clearly best afield.
