Last year’s Emerging Talent Award winner had another stellar year in blue and gold, confirming his status as one of the club’s most exciting young Eagles. After playing much of season 2019 as a back-up ruck, Allen got a better run at his preferred forward role this year and showed his class patrolling the forward 50. He booted 18 goals from his 15 senior appearances – ranking him fourth on the club’s goal kicking leaderboard behind spearheads Josh Kennedy (34 goals), Jack Darling (30) and Liam Ryan (26) – and averaged a career-best 1.1 marks inside 50 per game.

Standout performance:

Allen stood tall in one of West Coast’s most important games of the year, its round five clash with Sydney at Metricon Stadium. The club was reeling following three-straight losses after relocating to the Sunshine State and desperately needed a win to get its season back on track. Allen, who was dropped for the club’s round four clash with Port Adelaide, was recalled to face the Swans and played like a man possessed. He amassed 11 disposals, eight score involvements, seven hitouts, six marks (three inside 50) and booted three goals to help the Eagles record a 34-point win and, ultimately, awake from their hub slumber.
