The defensive stalwart has been able to maintain heightened intensity through full training sessions over the past few weeks and stepped it up a little today.

Meanwhile, captain Luke Shuey is expects to return this weekend, under the provision he gets through Thursday’s training session and pulls up well.

Hardnosed defender Brad Sheppard is also on the road to recovery, and looks set to put his hand up for selection after a solid training session, showing no signs of the concussion sustained  against Carlton three weeks ago.

The Eagles are also expected to be bolstered with the return of onballer Tim Kelly, who will line-up alongside Elliot Yeo and Nic Naitanui for the first time this season.

Midfield bull Yeo only returning from his own battle with osteitis pubis a fortnight ago, strengthening the West Coast engine room with two domineering performances on field.

All aforementioned players had a strong session on the track, beginning with basic skills training and goal kicking, before breaking up into their respective lines for simulation.

Dual Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy was booting monstrous goals from outside 50, alongside speedster Liam Ryan, key forward Jack Darling and the freshly-returned Willie Rioli.

Twenty-two year old Oscar Allen also wowed the crowd with some magnificent manoeuvres of his own.

Young duo Luke Edwards (two games) and Luke Foley (four games) also generated fan attention after breakout seasons with West Coast this year.

There wasn’t even a zephyr of breeze, ensuring  the training session was performed in an ideal climate for fans and players alike.

The match is set to be hotly contested this weekend; the Bulldogs the only side sitting above the Eagles in terms of efficiency inside 50 and disposal accuracy.

Fans are expected to be out in droves on the weekend, for West Coast’s second top-eight clash in three weeks.

Many of these same fans interacted with players today, who signed merchandise and took photographs in a COVID-friendly manner.
